Roberto Ceccutti
Head of the Trade and Economic Section. at EU delegation to South AfricaAs of 1 September 2019, Roberto joined the Delegation of the
European Union (EU) to South Africa as Head of the Trade
and Economic Section.
Between January 2017 and August 2019, Roberto worked in the trade department of the European
Commission and was responsible for the bilateral trade and investment relations between the EU
and six countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), including South
Africa. He was specifically following issues related to the EU-SADC Economic Partnership
Agreement.
From September 2014 to December 2017, Roberto was responsible in the same department for the
bilateral trade and investment relations with India.
He served previously in the EU Delegation to China (September 2011 to August 2014) as
responsible for trade and investment matters with China and Mongolia, and in the EU Delegation to
Papua New Guinea (September 2007 to August 2011) as head of trade, investment and
development co-operation.
Roberto joined the European Commission in March 2003, and worked first in the trade
department on trade defence instruments (March 2003 to August 2005) and then in the
development co-operation department on quality screening (September 2005 to August 2007).

Chairman at EU CHAMBERRui Marto is the interim Chairman of the EU Chamber. He is a practising attorney and director of attorneys Marto Lafitte & Assoc Inc. in Johannesburg specializing in commercial and property law.
Reginald Tebogo Selelo
COO at BOTSWANA INVESTMENT & TRADE CENTREMr Reginald T. Selelo is an international trade and investment economist/expert currently employed as Chief Operations Officer (COO) at the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) with the role of ensuring attraction and facilitation of both domestic and foreign investment into the country.
BITC is Botswana’s premier investment promotion agency established by an act of Parliament, as an integrated Investment and Trade Promotion Authority (ITPA) with an encompassing mandate of investment promotion and attraction, export promotion, and development, including management of the Nation Brand.
Mr. Selelo has worked for several institutions amongst others the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Southern Africa Trade Hub, the US Government economic growth office, the Southern African Customs Union (SACU) Secretariat in Windhoek, Namibia, and Botswana Export Development and Investment Authority (BEDIA). His professional experience spans a period of over 20 years. Mr. Selelo’s key areas of expertise include investment advisory services, investment policy, investment and export promotion, international trade law, trade negotiations, regional trade agreements, industrial policy, business advisory service, and trade policy.
Mr. Selelo holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Trade Law and Policy Management from the University of Cape Town, a Master of Arts degree in Economics and a first-class Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics obtained from the University of Botswana.
Additionally, Mr Selelo is also an Alumni of the University of Oxford’s prestigious Oxford Advanced Leadership and Management Programme (OAMLP). Mr. Selelo is married and blessed with three bubbly kids, two girls, and a boy.
Mmetla Masire Masire
Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Mineral Resources , Green Technology and And Energy SecurityMmetla Masire is an experienced Electronics & Electrical Engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Wales (UWIST), with vast experience in the Mining Industry. He is currently the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security. He was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) and was credited with turning around an underperforming utility from a loss-making organization to a profitable and sustainable utility. He was charged with the responsibility of delivery on WUC’s mandate of providing safe and sustainable water and wastewater services across the country.
Masire first joined government in 2011 at the Diamond Hub, as Coordinator Relocation & Opportunities. He was responsible for driving, from a government perspective, the relocation of De Beers diamond sales function(DTCI), that was valued at US$ 6 billion per annum, from London to Botswana. He successfully completed this project
ahead of schedule in 2013. He was also responsible for maximizing the benefits from opportunities associated with the relocation of DTCI to Botswana.
He has over 25 years’ experience in the diamond industry and has held a number of senior positions in Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. He has been involved in negotiations, strategy development and operational optimization and project implementation in the diamond industry in Southern Africa.
Tshenolo C. Modise
High Commisioner at Botswana to the Republic of Namibia- High Commissioner Modise is a career diplomat who joined the Botswana Foreign Service twenty-nine (29) years ago and has served in different capacities both in Botswana and abroad. Her first post abroad was to the Republic of South Africa in 1990 where she served through CODESA negotiations and the first democratic elections in 1994.
- High Commissioner Modise’s most recent assignment High Commissioner to the Republic of Namibia for six years where she was accredited to the Republic of Angola and to the Republic of Congo.
- Before that, she served as Ambassador or Head of Mission to the European Union (EU) from 2005 to 2010 where she was also accredited to the BENELUX countries including France, Germany, and Italy.
- She has served as Director in four of the five Departments of the
Botswana Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation
Norman Moleele
Chief Executive Officer at Business BotswanaMr Moleele has risen through the ranks with Business Botswana ( Formerly BOCCIM) working with the private sector for over 25 years as ; (a) Field Officer; (b) Regional Manager; (c) Deputy Executive Director; (d) Membership Management Director; (d) Private Sector Development Programme (PSDP) Director- on secondment. In his previous roles Mr Moleele has led managed and supervised a good number of senior managers and professionals and other numerous employees.
His responsibilities at Business Botswana include amongst others; driving the overall strategy, risk and management of Business Botswana focusing on Private Sector growth and Social development, research policy and advocacy, establish international partnership, provision of membership service, business development and contribution to accelerated economic growth agenda for the private sector. Mr Moleele sits on the following boards;
- Vice Chairperson of the Botswana National productivity Centre (BNPC) board
- Rural Development Council (RDC)
- Economic Diversification and Trade Council (EDTC)
- Botswana Bureau of Standards Council
- SADC Private Sector Forum (SPSF) (currently secretariat)
He has represented Business Botswana in Regional and International assignments at; International Labour Organization (ILO), Southern African Development Community (SADC) and African Union (AU). Mr Moleele has worked on projects with the Kenya Association of Manufacturers and participated in several high level meetings, seminars, workshops and conferences across the world.
